Supervisor:
Department of Indoor Enviromental and Building Services Engineering
Synopsis:

In the view of the pedagogical objectives of this subject, basic geometrical and technical concepts of illumination shall be considered in a clear form, concerning the subject, specialization, eventually the branch of „Lighting of Buildings“. Light has a significant impact on the environment inside the building, on the physiology of seeing, and on the human health. The influence of the sun, insolation, its control, building orientation and indoor light climate justify the significance of artificial lighting. The students shall get basic knowledge in projecting of the lighting system of building, light sources, as well as illustrating practical cases in the market via study trips. The core matter shall be directions and examples of calculation of artificial lighting of a building, and economic rates related to concrete, considerable energy saving connected with implementation of artificial lighting in intelligent buildings.

Requirements:

There isn?t requirement on relationship to other subjects.

Syllabus of lectures:

1Geometric concepts and Units in lighting technology. Photometric concepts and measurement units. Lighting requirements.

2Light, space, human - history. The sun and the building. Insolation of buildings and its regulation. Building orientation and time of insolation.

3Physiology of vision. Criteria and limits of daylighting. The calculation of daylight factor. Measurement of lighting.

4Daylight and building. Window and interior lighting. Terms of interior illumination. Design the lighting system of the building.

5Technical expertise of lighting. Normalization. Problems daylight for different types of buildings. Light sources.

6Design of artificial lighting. Economic indicators. Computational methods. Calculation of the lighting point on illuminated level.

7Lighting calculations. Method cavities. Point method. Lighting of sequential space. Classification of artificial lighting according to the operational purpose. Design of main lighting. Associated lighting. Examples.

Syllabus of tutorials:

1 Computations, examples of basics of lighting equipment. 2 Design of artificial lighting calculations. Examples on projects of objects. 3 lighting of intelligent buildings. Consultation presentations. 4 Presentation of semester work 5 Presentation of semester work 6 Completion, debate, classified accreditation

Study Objective:
