The course includes advanced analysis and structural design of slender sections and cold-formed sections. Advanced structural design of steel-concrete composite and tubular structures is also included.
- Syllabus of lectures:
Plate buckling, Class 4 sections.
Thin-walled cold-formed sections. Fabrication process and structural design according to Eurocode.
Cold-formed structural steel elements. Purlins, rails, profiled sheeting. Lightweight framed buildings. Connections of cold-formed members.
Steel and concrete composite slabs. Composite continuous beams and columns.
Tubular structures ? structural design specifics, detailing.
Global stability of compressed members and structures.

Class 4 cross-section in bending.
Compressed lipped channel.
Steel and concrete composite beam not supported during the assembly.
Tubular truss girder joint design.
Buckling lengths of portal frames and a truss girder.
