Building Services Systems-heating, cooling, ventilation.

Renewable Energy Sources-description, design, energy efficiency, calculation.

Requirements:

Basic knowledge of building design, material design, structural systems, building physics.

Syllabus of lectures:

1 Introduction, building and energy, energy audits, energy performance of buildings

2 Heating systems in buildings - energy sources

3 Heating systems in buildings - heating system

4 Ventilation systems in buildings - ventilation system, distribution systems

5 Systems of cooling - cooling sources, distribution system, energy-saving systems

6 Solar energy - the use of principle, passive systems.

7 Solar energy - the principle of recovery, active systems, process design of solar systems.

8 Biomass - sources, methods of extraction of biomass, biomass processing.

9 Biomass - ways of generating energy from biomass, biomass combustion.

10 Geothermal energy - how energy production, energy use in buildings

11 Geothermal energy - heat pumps, design, utilization. Cogeneration - Technology features, benefits.

12 Wind energy, hydropower, fuel cells - wind turbines, water turbines, wave power - construction equipment, property, energy benefits.

13 Energy efficient buildings - examples, properties of objects, concept design, coordination systems.

The goal of study is comprehensive look at issues of building energy systems and obtain information about renewable energy sources and their use.
