Advanced methods of modeling of fire and structural analysis (performace based methods) are explained here.

Syllabus of lectures:

Summary of the basic principles of fire design

Thermal analysis, fire scenarios

Rate of heat release

Zone models, models of localised fire

Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD)

heat transfer to structural elements exposed to localised fire, unprotected and protected steel elements

Configuration factor, steel elements outside the fire compartment

Advanced methods of glogal structural analysis

Design of composite structures, composite columns using software

Design of aluminium structures

Examples of structural fire design

Fire experiments

Syllabus of tutorials:

Thermal analysis of fire compartment, fire scenarios, zone models, software Ozone

Models of localised fire

Design of composite column using software

Global structural analysis at fire

Temperature of steel column outside of the fire compartment

Study Objective:

To increase the knowledge of fire engineering methods. The aim is to get the ability to design steel, composite, timber and aluminium structures exposed to fire.
