Synopsis:

Knowledge of fundamentals of numerical methods within selected technical applications. Solution of elementary problems using standard numerical methods.

Requirements:

Ordinary differential equations (ODE).

Syllabus of lectures:

Elementary introduction of numerical methods essential for solution of differential equations. Fundamentals for solution of ordinary differential equations (ODE) under various initial and boundary conditions, and partial differential equations (PDE) of elliptic and parabolic type. Focus on practical use of numerical algorithms (stability and instability of some numerical processes).
