Synopsis:

Obtained knowledge enables analyzing and designing simple structures in transportation, e.g. various types of girders, truss structures, funicular polygons and chain structures.

Requirements:

Introduction into mechanics. Space and plane force system. Supporting and calculation of reactions of girders and compound structures. Internal forces of girders and truss structures. Cross-sectional moments of inertia. Virtual work. Funicular polygon and chain structure. Friction.
