Structural and geotechnical problems of hydraulic structures

Synopsis:

The course focuses on failures and problems in the design and operation of hydraulic structures - especially dams, weirs and waterways - with a focus on foundation and construction. Students will be introduced to the solution of various technical problems using examples of designed and operated hydraulic structures.

Syllabus of lectures:

presentation of the solution of geotechnical and construction issues- 12 selected hydraulic structures

Syllabus of tutorials:

analysis of the presented solution for 12 hydraulic structures

Study Objective:

The goal of the study is to inform about the experiences in the solution of different geotechnical and construction aspects of hydraulic structures and perform the analysis of such experience.
