Synopsis:

Physiotherapy, especially physical therapy, orthotics and prosthesis, selected parts of biomechanics and ergonomy. Physical therapeutic methods, technology in therapy (ultrasound apparatuses and technology for radiotherapy). Replacement by sensors and possibilities of communication with computer. Artificial organs and relevant circulatory confirmatory devices. Implantable medical devices - pacemakers, defibrilators, cardioverters.

Requirements:

Conditions for classified assessment (graded credit):

A) presentation and submission of the project (the design study) focused on medical technology and rehabilitation engineering or equipment, processed in a SolidWorks in electronic form. Evaluation is weighted in this manner: 70 % level of model, 30 % drawing and presentation.

B) work will be submitted till the annonced deadline (deadline will be specified during the first exercise)

C) participation in exercises (one absence will be allowed without compensation)

Study Objective:

The main goal of the subject is to give information within the field of rehabilitation engineering as branch where the all activity is devoted to the improvement of dissabled quality of live. Students will be able to perform synthesis of the knowledge from a lot of branches to obtain the most suitable aid or device.
