Synopsis:

District heating and cooling systems with fossil and renewable sources of heat and cold. Heating nets, their hydraulics and heat losses. Delivery stations.

Syllabus of lectures:

Czech energy strategy. Fuels. Design of heat power for space heating and hot water. Types and construction of heating nets. Hydraulic calculation of heating net. Heat losses of distribution net. Stress loads and compensation of dillatations. Delivery stations. Heat cycles (Carnot, RC, ORC). Heat generators. Heating plants. Combined heat&power plants (CHP). Use of RES in district heating. Fuel cells. Cold sources and district cooling.

Syllabus of tutorials:

Design of heat power for space heating and hot water. Heat demand. Hydraulic calculations. Heat losses. Economically optimal insulation thickness. Stress loads and dillatations. Heat cycles. Delivery stations.

Study Objective:

Students gain a knowledge on possibilities of district heating systems development, design and trends.
