Synopsis:

Development of cutting material, cutting speed development and consequences on the properties of surface finish. Hard and precision machining, engineering economics and ecology.Influence of surface layer and selecting methods of machining process parameters. New methods of abrasive machining, grinding of ceramics, grinding difficult-materials. Expert, adaptive and intelligent control systems, abrasive processes. Physical methods of machining, manufacturing methods and gear threading, finishing methods. Technology in the aerospace industries, automotive, energy and other areas.

Syllabus of lectures:

1. Development of cutting material, cutting speed development and consequences on the properties of surface finish.

2. The integrity of the surface in terms of development of cutting materials.

3. Hard and precision machining. environmental engineering.

4. Economy machining, manufacturing costs and optimization of cutting conditions.

5. Surface integrity at abrasive method finishing.

6. Surface layer behaviour under dynamical load influence of selection of finishing method and process parameters.

7. New methods of abrasive machining.

8. Ceramics grinding, grinding of hard machining materials. Expert system, adaptive system, intelligent system of abrasive process control.

9. Physical methods of machining.

10. Methods of production of threads and gears.

11. Finishing methods.

12. Technology in the aviation and automotive manufacturing.

13. Technology in energy and other areas.

1. Application of cutting materials, including the calculation of cutting conditions and economic comparison.

2. Application of cutting materials, including the calculation of cutting conditions and economic comparison.

3. Machinability of materials and its influence production technology.

4. Machinability of materials and its influence production technology.

5. Grinding - cutting conditions, the equivalent chip thickness and grinding diagram.

9. Application of non-conventional machining methods in production.

Study Objective:

Extending the knowledge about new methods of machining, progressive tool materials, cutting conditions and their effect on machined surface integrity, including applications in various industries.
