Social Ecology: The subject deals with the relationship of man and the environment in landscape and settlements. It acquaints students with selected methods of socio-ecological research and participation of citizens in the formation of the rural environment, the city and its socio-spatial structure. The theoretical part of the subject is based on concrete practical examples, which are processed by the students and present them during the semester.

The minimum number of students to open the course is 5. EXCEPTION for self-paying students: if there are less than 5 students, the course will be taught in consultations.
- Syllabus of lectures:

1.Basic terms and relations both in construction projects and general economics.
2.Total project cost/price. Professional services (arch., engineer). Classification in construction.
3.Programming: CPM + resources analysis, bar chart. Site/project management.
4.Pricing: unit rates, the bill of quantities (take-off), direct site cost, on-costs, margin. Fluctuation clause.
5.Procurement, agreement, contract.
6.Cost in use: L/P account, replacement, life cycle costing, net present value, discounted cash flow.
7.Fixed - variable - sales (break-even point) analysis.
8.Economic performance figures/indicators: profitability, pay-back, productivity.
9.Further measuring methods: benchmarking, standard costs/rates.
10.Multi-criteria optimisation: value management, SWOT.
11.Decision under risk management in contract awarding.
12.Decision-making on externalities: environmental impact analysis, PEST impact.
13.Timing of buildings implementation and building technology methods.
