Synopsis:

The course acquaints students with project management as a part of the production and operational management of modern enterprise, operating under LEAN Six Sigma.

Requirements:

Requirements for course credit: Attendance, active participation, final test, presentation. Exam from lecturing topics.

Syllabus of lectures:

(1) Objective of POM, relevant projects current trends, forecasting of demand.

(2) The project approach to POM, aggregate production plan schedules.

(3) The projects of inventory control system - initial findings + EOQ

(4) Inventory management system ROP projects.

(5) Inventory Management - FOI + simple supply models

(6) The current development philosophy and methods in designing POM.

(7) Design of Total Productive Maintenance, Kanbans and OEE calculating.

(8) Material requirements planning methods, increasing of the Productivity

(9) Projects of scheduling and allocating of jobs

(10) Design of production lines, financial management in production control.

(11) Designing a complete quality system and aggregate production planning

(12) New product developing projects and JIT logistics.

(13) Development for CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing).

Syllabus of tutorials:

(1) Introduction, requirements, design principles and project management, forecasting I.

(2) Project management, forecasting II. Extrapolation of trends, forecast error.

(3) The principles of aggregate planning, aggregate project plan.

(4) Projects of Inventory Management I. Initial findings, EOQ models.

(5) Projects of Inventory Management II. Models EOQ, ROP.

(6) Projects of Inventory Management III. models ROP.

(7) Projects of Inventory Management IV. Models FOI, Simple supply models.

(8) The project in production management, principles of JIT, TPS, Kanban, TQM, TPM.

(9) Projects in maintenance of machines and equipment management, OEE calculations.

(10) Production orders projects and Schedulling.

(11) Projects of production lines synchronization.

(12) Project application of the significance trees in the project management.

(13) Pareto analysis projects in product quality control.

Study Objective:

Emphasis will be placed on the functional areas of initiating the project, project planning methodology, project time management, precedence diagramming method, activity duration estimates, executing the project, cost estimates, procurements documents, controlling the project and evaluation criteria. In addition, the process of project management will be outlined and evolving changes in management practices discussed. The course is designed to provide engineers with the basic information and skills necessary to manage projects of the enterprise. Tuition suitably links sequence of managerial and technical subject categories and simultaneously reacts to topical business and graduation theses requirements. Teaching methods will include lectures, group presentations and discussions of cases as well as other exercises.
