Synopsis:

The course acquaints students with basic knowledge in the field of forensic medicine in relation to legislative and medico-legal issues, knowledge in the modern and the rule of law becomes a necessity of every health care professional.

Requirements:

Participation in seminars and working on an assigned essay topic. Presentation of work in seminars.

Syllabus of lectures:

Definition of forensic medicine, design, history and significance.

Death, basic concepts, proof of death.

Brain death, the posthumous removal of organs - transplant program, Transplant Act.

Examination of the deceased, localities, postmortem changes.

Some mechanisms of violent death, injury types and their diagnosis.

To death in the field and in hospital.

Pregnancy and childbirth from the court - medical aspects, Infanticide mother to child violence.

Sudden death, SIDS.

Identification (forensic anthropology, dentistry, serology, genetics).

Forensic toxicology, alcohol and drugs.

Alcohol, drugs in the practice of the medical examiner.

Traffic accidents.

Mass casualty and disaster.

Syllabus of tutorials:

Department of Forensic Medicine: a section of the autopsy, histology and histochemistry, toxicology, laboratory research traces of biological origin.

Demonstration of autopsies at the Department of Forensic Medicine.

Biopsy examination.

Termination of the body, death, of death, postmortem changes.

Traffic accidents and their consequences.

Multiple accidents in medical practice court.

Alcohol in medical practice court.

Drugs.

Intoxication in forensic medicine.

Injury sharp, blunt object, gunshot wounds, explosive trauma.

Thermal injury, electric shock.

Combat poisonous substances.

Drowning, drowning, suffocation, inhalation trauma, strangulation.

Study Objective:

Forensic medicine is a subject in which students are given a detailed overview of the entire problem of forensic medicine, mainly in relation to legislative and medico-legal issues, knowledge in the modern and the rule of law becomes a necessity of every health care professional.
