Synopsis:

Subject neurology in relation to the knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology focusing attention on basic pathophysiological phenomena, namely the central and peripheral movement disorders, sensory disturbances, autonomic activity and seizure manifestations. In detail, it deals mainly with issues of acute stroke, seizures, headaches, algic vertebral syndromes and neuromuscular disorders. At the same time students learn the basic investigative procedures, including neurological and neurophysiological neuroradiologických auxiliary methods. Are discussed in detail the diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms, with special attention to the PNP and the OUP.

Requirements:

Knowledge of Latin terminology, anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, pathology and radiologists. Examination by written test.

Syllabus of lectures:

Overview of basic anatomical and physiological assumptions. The mechanism of primary and secondary cerebral damage.

Principles of neurological investigations. Access to the unconscious patient.

Localization of brain function disorders.

Central and peripheral paresis, sensory disturbances, lymph disorders.

Additional investigations (EEG, EMG, ultrasound, examination of cerebrospinal fluid.)

Pain, anxiety, agitation, insomnia, neurogenic respiratory disorders. Abnormalities in blood pressure (hypo / hypertension), heart function abnormalities.

Inflammatory and infectious diseases of the nervous system.

Epilepsy, seizure or other seizure states.

A sudden stroke.

Study Objective:

To acquaint students with acute stroke, seizures, headaches, algic vertebral syndromes and neuromuscular disorders.

In another part of the course, students learn the basic investigative procedures, including neurological and neurophysiological neuroradiologických auxiliary methods. Are discussed in detail the diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms, with special attention to the PNP and the OUP.
