Synopsis:

The course gives a brief overview of the main principles and procedures for the provision of emergency first aid with special reference to the procedures for failure of vital functions and immediately life-threatening conditions. The tasks of the course are included situations of mass affected in crisis situations and emergencies, including CBRN phenomenon.

After successful completion of this course the student should be able to independently diagnose failure of vital functions, recognize the state of imminent danger to life, perform basic emergency resuscitation and provide emergency first aid.

Requirements:

Credit:

- 90% attendance at seminars (long-term absence is dealt individually with the subject)

- A seminar paper

- Demonstration of practical skills acquired during the practical training in exercises

Exam:

- Subject to passing the exam is passed CREDIT

- Written multiple choice test (form a, b​​, c, d, e) - by ECTS (ie min. Percentage of correct answers 50%)

- Range test - odpřednášená topics and required reading

- 2 retake the oral form (according to the Study and Examination Regulations CTU)

Note: The interval between regular and remedial or corrective exam tests must be at least 7 days.

Syllabus of lectures:

1. Basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation - basic life functions, their failures, call support, communication with the control room and the progress after the arrival of professional help.

2. Basic life support - emergency resuscitation of children, use of automated external defibrillation

3. Shock - types of shock, anti-shock measures

4. Bleeding (arterial, venous, capillary, external, internal), bleeding

5. Thermal trauma, electric shock, chemical trauma

6. Nontraumatic emergency conditions

7. Procedure with a large number of wounded, CBRN, transportation equipment

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. Basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation - an examination of an unconscious victim, checking vital signs, airway, monitoring the victim, record information

2. Basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation - CPR one and two rescuer for adults and children

3. Automated external defibrillator, external defibrillation

4. Dressings, bandaging techniques

5. Urgent help in acute bleeding, use slipper

6. Shock - identify types of shock, anti-shock measures

7. Chest pain, differential diagnosis, first aid

8. Acute shortness of breath - asthma, severe allergic reaction, pulmonary embolism

9. Sudden non-traumatic disorders of consciousness (vasovagal collapse, arrhythmias, urgent states hypo-diabetes, hyperglycemia, seizures - epilepsy, febrile seizures, intoxication)

10. Handling the handicapped, practicing improvised transport

11. Basic physiological human values​​, their measurement and evaluation

12. First aid for musculoskeletal injuries - sprains, dislocations, fractures (open and closed), fixation, manipulation affected

13. Injuries to the thorax and abdomen (open, closed) first aid, handling of the wounded

14. credit

The exercise will be carried out:

- Control of knowledge still delivered substance (orally or in writing),

- Reports on the matter,

- Practical training lectures and practice skills.

The order of exercises may change, students will be informed of the change.

Study Objective:

Acquire basic knowledge in the field of general and specialized pre-hospital emergency assistance to the extent necessary for the performance of the medical profession in the undergraduate program: Specialization in Health.
