Synopsis:

Characteristics of metallic and fiber lines, network passive and active elements. Physical layer design tools. Terrestrial and wireless (fixed and mobile) systems - network architecture. Most frequently used protocols, their properties and mutual relations. Protocols application in e-communications systems for data and voice services and support of the ITS systems.

Requirements:

solid state physics, electromagnetic field, mathematics, telecommunications systems, network topologies and positioning of the RM OSI layers in telecommunications systems

Study Objective:

Layers structured telecommunications systems, properties and calculation methods applicable on e-communications networks physical layer, access and backbone technologies, relevant protocols of L2/3 for voice and data services with special concentration on ITS real time applications.
