Synopsis:

Lectures and tuitions in the area of community buildings. The course deals with classification, purpose, functions, zoning and building program of complexes of buildings; it researches functional relations and their layout formation. It finds relations among area sizes and volumes of exterior and interior spaces. The course covers principles and requirements for particular or integrated typological forms of buildings including fundamental issues of hygiene, comfortable environment, security, fire safety and technical, structural, urban, ecological and economical aspects. Typological kinds: buildings for culture, business and services, religious buildings, medical buildings, buildings for seniors.

Study Objective:

The course develops thinking in the area of typology, applies and broaden knowledge and prepares students for upcoming courses, especially in architectural studios. The subject is the part of the basic orientation in the area.
