Synopsis:

Course make for deepen view of situation man in modern world namely especially

concerning topics, which get younger generation (generational and cultural shift, „postmodern“

crisis funds etc.), and too concerning their profession course (life way, creativity, thinking and emotivity, human freedom and self-control aj.). Course connection standpoint biological, psychological, social and spiritual.

Purposes course indeed there're not only all-round „information“ about man and his exercise in life. Second fundamental purposes is further evolution of intellectual and communicative abilities of students. Course has nurse ability independent critical thinking and independent

argumentation and look.

Requirements:

Requirements for credit: attendance, active participation, discussion of the lectures or individual oral or written presentations.

Syllabus of lectures:

1.Confrontation of philosophical view of man. Has man soul? (Platon).

2.Duality of thinking and fleshliness (R. Descartes).

3.Man, freedom, self-control (I. Kant).

4.Man - animal with memories (F. Nietzsche). Man as biological, cultural, social, spiritual being. Gene v. „mems“ (biological vs. cultural conditionality).

5.About fear and antithesis of life. Life way, searching the meaning of life, life crisis, self-cognition, self-formation.

6.Creativity of man. All-round conception of intelligence.

7.What are the „archetype“ (fundamental mental topics). Examples of „archetypes“ on particular and cultural level.

8.Archetype of hero and risky activity.

9.Emulation, enterprise, egoism?

10.Antitheses of man in modern era - freedom and license, problem of agressivity and indifference, media and their influence.

11.Destructive forces in culture and in man.

12.Rationality and emotivity, rationality and non-racionality.

13.Problem of discontinuity of life manifestation of modern man.
