Synopsis:

Connection, evolution and transformation of science in modern era. So what constitutes „western“ science and its context. The course is not only versatile but „information“ about people and their application in life. The second primary objective is to further develop intellectual and communication skills of students, the ability of critical thinking and independent reasoning.

Requirements:

Requirements for credit: attendance, active participation, discussion of the lectures or individual oral or written presentations.

Syllabus of lectures:

1.Philosophy of science, the main issues and probléme.

2.Rationality and causality, rationality and empiricism.

3.Methods in science, their strengths and limitations. Positivism in science.

4.Problem axioms. The logic of science as a tool of thought. Transformations of logic.

5.Discovering the synergy of logic, knowledge, imagination and intuition.

6.What is the scientific „paradigm“. The development of science as a paradigm clash.

7.Transition to probabilistic models.

8.Suggestions quantum theory.

9.So-called deterministic chaos theory.

10.Relationship of parts and whole in nature. The principle of holography as an overall theory.

11.Issues of evolution as an example of the consequences of the theory of non-science.

12.Extra-scientific kontext of science: science and ethics, science and religion.

13.Science and progress. Science solves everything?
