Synopsis:

Basic plastics and composites manufacturing techniques will be introduced as well as a problem of jointing and recycling. Within this course students will visit tool shop, plastics injection plant and company producing composite parts. In laboratories students will manufacture a composite part, make tests of mechanical properties, they will try jointing, machining and rearing of composite parts.

Requirements:

1.Opening lecture, history, materials, techniques, production and treatment of plastics.

2.Rheology of plastic materials.

3.Extrusion.

4.Injection - technology.

5.Injection - dies, machines.

6.Other manufacturing technologies.

7.Plastics jointing.

8.Compisite materials - types, categories.

9.Technologies of composites manufacturing.

10.Mechanical properties of composites - konstruction, calculations.

11.Composites for aircraft, hybrid composites.Composites jointing.

12.Recycling of plastic and composite parts.

13.Final lecture, summary, discussion.

5.Composites manufacturing - cutting, lamination, hardening.

6.Composites manufacturing - machining and reparation.
