Synopsis:

The course in Compressible Fluid Flow is aimed at PhD. students working in a technical field. The main aim is to understand basic principles, to know topical problems and to apprehend theoretical, numerical na experimental approaches of solution of compressible fluid flow tasks.

Requirements:

The course participants are also expected to work outside the classes : individual study, solution of tasks, transactions written reports and presentations.

Syllabus of lectures:

Foundations and definitions. Properties of compressible fluids. Thermodynamics and application its laws at formulation of compressible fluid flow. Navier-Stokes equations for compressible fluid flow. Approximations of equations for solution of tasks of compressible fluid flow. Subsonic flows. Supersonic flows. Transonic flows. Numerical modelling of compressible fluid flow. Experimental aerodynamic modelling.
