Synopsis:

Composition of biomembranes, self-assembly of biomembranes, loading of membranes in tension, compression, shear and bending, Helfrich deformation energy of biomembrane, closed membrane structures, axisymmetric analysis of zero temprature shapes, intrinsic curvature of membrane, shape fluctuations, isotropic inclusions, anisotropic inclusions, membrane rafts
