Synopsis:

Numerical controled cutting machines, means of programming, coordinate systems, ISO code.

NC program, its creating using CAD/CAM layers, postprocessors.

CNC inner structure, interaction of its parts, control system modes.

Real-time operating systems.

Syllabus of lectures:

Numerical control of machine tools, programming tools, coordinate systems, basic ISO code.

NC programs and programming methods (manual, machine, using CAD/CAM), postprocessors.

Parametric programming.

Control system modes.

CAD/CAM and advanced features, links to CNC.

Coordinate system settings, cutter compensation, transformations.

Error compensation in machine tools, machine parameters.

Internal structure of CNC systems.

Interoperability between individual parts.

PLC - role, link to machine peripherals.

Numerical control of machine tools for non-cutting and unconventional technologies, preparation of control data.

Flexible manufacturing systems.

Real-time operating systems.

Study Objective:

Student should gain a basic knowledge in NC-programming and CAD-CAM programming as well. He also becomes familiar with properties and inner structure of CNC systems.
