Aircraft development phases. Innovative motivation, conceptual study, feasibility study, full - scale design, production, ground and flight testing, certification, service. Wing location with respect to the fuselage, wing lofting, wing geometry, airfoil, lift devices, wing loading, wing structure, wing attachments. Fuselage. Sizing and weight parameters - statistics and preliminary estimate, fuselage structure requirements, fuselage lofting, geometry and aerodynamic parameters, loading, payload volume - crew station, passenger compartment, fuel tanks, cargo provisions, fuselage structure, pressurization. Tail unit. Requirements and limitations, ground and flight loading, landing gear arrangements and geometry, gear leg, shock absorber, gears, landing gear retractions. Budgets and costs. Life cycle costs, specific costs, time consumption, startup curve.
