Synopsis:

Description of special welding methods, methods of thermal cutting, theirs use and applications. Physical methods: laser, electron beam, plasma welding. Welding in solid state: friction welding, diffusion welding, ultrasonic welding, explosion welding etc. Others: aluminothermic welding, stud welding, high frequency welding. Use for special welding applications, special materials.

Requirements:

Basic knowledge of manufacturing technologies-welding.

Syllabus of lectures:

- Groups and characteristics of special welding methods-high energy density welding, low heat input welding, pros and cons.

- Detailed description of methods, preparation and creation of weld joint, weld types

- Plasma welding

- Laser welding

- Electron beam welding

- Diffusion welding

- Pressure welding

- Friction welding and friction stir welding

- Explosion welding

- Ultrasonic welding

- High frequency welding

- Special methods of cutting
