The second part of Flight Mechanics is focused on handling qualities of the airplane. Coordinate systems for the airplane motion. Equations of motion, linearized approach. Distribution into longitudinal and lateral motions. Data for the solution of equations of motion. Neutral point, pitching moments of the separate parts of the airplane, airplane as a whole. Static stability of the airplane. Controllability and maneuverability of the airplane. Dynamic stability. Oscillation modes of longitudinal and lateral motions. Fly by wire systems. Human factor in controlling the airplane.
