Synopsis:

The course provides a basic introduction to 3Dstudio Max. Students will learn how to create models in Max, apply modifiers, create and assign materials, create lights and cameras, and how to make animations. Throughout the course students make exercises. The course is successfully passed based on the result of the exercises.

1. Introduction (working method with Max, create primitives, teaching system Moodle), 2. Modifiers and accurate dimensions, 3. Dimensioning helpers, layers, and spiral staircase, 4. Standard materials and lights, 5. Material types for standard scanline rendering, 6. Mental ray material and renderer, 7. Interior rendering with mental ray, 8. Cameras, keyframing and animation, 9. Animation and curve editor, 10. Final animation techniques. Additional lectures may be inserted based on special interest or architects who use computers in design.
