Supervisor:
Department of Hydrotechnics
Synopsis:

The subject is focused to hazards and risks during the operation of water management systems in the connection to water management rules. Students get further acquainted with the analysis of the impact of breakdown situations of water management systems to planed services. Possibilities of risk analysis and risk management are as well discussed.

Requirements:

no prerequisities

Syllabus of lectures:

water management system, visualization and abstraction of water management system (WS), purposes of WS, factors effecting the function of WS, risks from breakdowns of the function of WS, risks types, quantification of risk, risk management, economical effects of risk scenarios, computer visualization, multi criteria evaluation of solution - risk analysis application

Syllabus of tutorials:

description of WS, quantification of purposes and relations inside WS, operational hazards, reliability of elements and relations, loss curves, potential losses, possibilities of risk management, efficiency and pay back period of the investment to the safety

Study Objective:

The goal of the study is to understand the procedure of the analysis of breakdown situations at hydraulic systems and quantification of breakdowns to function of the water management systems. The second goal is the application of risk analysis to selected examples to understand the practical results for operation of water management systems.
