Synopsis:

The course is bound with the History of Germany and it deals with key problems of modern German history from the beginning of the 19th century (the end of the old Roman-German Empire) till present. It concentrates particularly on the process of formation of the modern German nation, unification of Germany and formation of the Second Empire, Wilhelm´s Germany before and during the Great War, Weimar republic, German fascism and the Third Reich, German question after the World War II. and the existence of two German states and the problems of the re-union of Germany. All topics will be consistently explained within the context of both European and Czech national development.
