Fundamentals of thermodynamics (First and Second Law of Thermodynamics). Terminology in refrigeration, diagrams and tables of refrigerants. Single-stage vapor (compression) cycle. Introduction to sorption cycles. Vapor absorption cycle with LiBr-water. Basic refrigerants, their classification, marking, properties and impact on the environment. Introduction to heat pumps and their use for heating and water heaters. Heat accumulation, low-temperature heat sources and heat pump drives.
