Synopsis:

Fundamental optical instruments: principles of function, characteristics, applications.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

Human eye and vision, eye characteristics, aberrations.

Spectacles. Magnifying lens: resolving power, magnification, types.

Microscope: resolving power, magnification, objectives, eyepieces, types, contrast encreasing methods, picture recording methods. Inverted and stereo microscope.

Refracting telescopes: Galileo, Kepler.

Reflecting telescopes.

Optical systems with variable parametres (zoom).

Colorimetry.
