Properties of liquid metals. Crystalization of cast alloys. Contraction during solidification. Methods for the feeding of castings. Directional solidification. Interction between metal and mould. Contraction defects. Grey iron. Ductile iron. Vermicular graphite iron. Irons for special use. Metalurgy of steel. Aluminium, magnesium, titanium and coper alloys.
