Synopsis:

Parameters of the traffic flow and methods for their measurement. Models of the traffic flow, communications load, line and urban systems. Theory of queues, shock waves. Quality of transport and its assessment. Statistical characteristics of transport. Transport excesses, their analysis, the causes, identify and minimize the consequences. Improving of transport safety and fluency.

Requirements:

differential and differential equations, fundamentals of fluid mechanics, differential and integral number, a random event, random variable (the characteristics and distribution), mathematical statistics, graph theory, the foundations of ITS

Study Objective:

Description of the traffic flow behaviour under conditions of stable and unstable. Introduction to models of the traffic flow. Indentification of traffic excesses and minimization of the consequences. Prevention of traffic excesses, list of resources for increasing the fluency and transport safety.
