Synopsis:

Electric energy sources: Transformer, rectifiers, DC generators. Actuators. Commutator, induction and synchronous motors. Stepper motors. Controlled small power drives, servo-motors, micromotors. Electromagnetic combatibility. Electric apparatus. Electrical energy production and transfer. Low voltage distribution. Protection of electrical devices. Chemical and photovoltaic electric sources.

Requirements:

Active participation on laboratory tasks solution, correct book-keeping of measurement documentation and results processing. Presentation of measurement reports.

Syllabus of lectures:

1. Electric energy sources, properties and regulation. Ideal transformer

2. Technical transformer, characteristics, equivalent circuit. Autotransformer

3. Single and three phase rectifiers, controlled and uncontrolled. DC generators

4. Actuators. Commutator motors. Separately excited DC motor

5. Series excited DC and AC motors

6. Induction motor, principle, equations, rotating field genesis, equivalent circuit

7. Characteristics and starting of induction motor. One phase induction motor

8. Synchronous machine, principle, equivalent circuit, phase diagram. Stepper motors

9. Controlled small power drives. Servo-motors, micromotors

10. Remedy of disfavour effects of semiconductor convertors in network

11. Electric apparatus. DC and AC circuits switching

12. Nuclear, thermal, hydraulic, gas turbine and wind power plant

13. Electrical energy transer and distribution. Protection of electrical devices

14. Chemical and fotovoltaic electric sources

1. Rules for laboratory work. Control of sources. Winding resistance measurement

2. One-phase transformer, no-load and short-circuit characteristics

3. Loading characteristic. Display of voltage, current and flux curves

4. Full-wave bridge rectifier at R, RL, RC load

5. Separately excited DC generator at no-load and full load

6. Separately excited DC motor, no-load and torque characteristics

7. Universal series motor, loading

8. Induction motor, torque-speed and current-speed characteristics

9. Induction motor supplied by frequency convertor, torque characteristics

10. Synchronous generator, paralleling conditions

11. Stepper motor, torque characteristics

12. Small motors of mass application, characteristics, control

13. Servo-motor, torque characteristic

14. Contactor circuit control of an induction motor, credit
