Synopsis:

This course is set up for those pre-intermediate students who want to practise listening and speaking skills needed in technical branches. It is based on a multimedia PC course „Connections- Technical English“, held in a language laboratory of the Department of Languages. This course requires the participants to be at the pre-intermediate level (having finished A0 level, or attending A1 level).

Requirements:

A student is due to attend classes (75%), to work actively during classes and work on home assignments

Week 7 - Revision lesson

Week 8 - Unit 6 - Giving instructions about managing a project

How car computers work - reading

Week 9 - Unit 7 - Processes of technical testing

Prepositions of time

Week 10 - Unit 8 - Discussing project delivery

Batteries - listening

Week 11 - Unit 9 - Complaining about non-delivery of components

Sound engineer - listening

Week 12 - Unit 10 - Discussing a visit to a service provider
