Course objective: The course focuses on technical English and practising difficult grammar concepts. Listening: Authentic texts, exercises from the texts, argumentation. Reading: Technical texts, newspaper articles, advertisements. Speaking: Stress on pronunciation and intonation. Discussion of technical topics, commentary, deduction, expressing opinions, agreeing and disagreeing, ending a discussion. Writing: Letters , Curriculum Vitae, seminars on specialised topics. Grammar: Revision of tenses, participles, gerund, relative clauses, word composition. Syntax of specialised texts. Using a monolingual dictionary.
