Lectures on fundamentals of the theory of reliability including basic methodological procedures.

Syllabus of lectures:

1.Reliability and related terms.

2.Probability analysis of reliability of complex systems.

3.Reliability of simple systems (serial system, parallel system, series-parallel system, parallel-serial system, k-out-of-n system).

4.Application of the total probability theorem.

5.Event-space method.

6.Connection matrix techniques.

7.Oriented graphs and minimal tie sets.

8.Fault trees and minimal cut sets.

9.Algorithm FACTOR.

10.System reliability evaluation using probability distributions.

11.Redundancy.

12.Fundamentals of the mathematical theory of reliability.

13.Probability design.

14.Interference of stress and strength distributions.

15.Introduction to random processes.

16.Homogeneous Poisson process.

17.Application of random processes in reliability evaluation.

18.Repairable systems.

19.Availibility.

20.Renewal process.

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. Systems with series and parallel links.

2. Factorization theorem (total probability theorem).

3. Minimal path.

4. Fault trees and minimal cuts.

5. Probability design.

6. Renewal process and availibility.

Study Objective:

Knowledge: Basic facts of mathematical theory of reliability, basic methodological procedures.

Skills: To solve besic problems of the system reliability, to process results of reliability tests.
