Ceramic materials are increasingly used in technical applications. Their manufacturing technology predetermines them for extensive use in all fields of industry. In certain cases they can replace classical metallic materials. They are applied in structures with specific requirements in transportation, electrical engineering and serve as cutting tips in machining.
