Department of Management and Economics
Synopsis:

The course is designed for doctoral students. The course acquaints students with the methods of operational analysis and systems analysis methods, including methods of statistical analysis. The methods of operational analysis represent system approach and can be suitably used to solve complex problems in engineering applications. Statistical analysis supports the operational and system analysis.

Requirements:

content-area of the exam: chapters of curriculum

Syllabus of lectures:

Course and characteristics of the operational and system analysis. The theory of mathematical programming. Theory of linear programming for technical applications. Theory of simulation in technical systems (Monte Carlo method). Theory of inventory management. Theory of renewal and maintenance of technical systems. Theory of Queuing in technical systems, Theory of reliability in engineering systems. Theory of branches and bounds. Theory of process analysis in technical systems. Description statistics. Regression and correlation analysis. Probabilistic models (distribution) and their use in technical applications. Theory of statistical estimation in engineering applications and verification of statistical hypotheses. Analysis of variance in technical applications.
