Synopsis:

Fundamentals of experimental aerodynamics in aeronautical and technical applicatons.

Experiment in the external and internal aerodynamic. Model similarity, scale effects, criteria of similarity. Types of wind tunnels, important testing parameters, special-purpose tunnels. Wind tunnel design, construction and operation. Model force and moment measurements. Aerodynamic balances, their design and calibration. Model design and construction. Model arrangement and mounting in the test section. Tare and interference measurements. Measure methods of pressure, velocity and flow direction. Measurement in the stationary and non-stationary flow. Electrical pressure transducers. Hot wire and LDA measure methods of velocity and flow direction. Measurement of temperature in flow. Testing procedure and integral measurement systems. Visualisation methods. Processing the results of tests, wind tunnel boundary corrections and use of wind tunnel data. Accuracy and reproducibility of tests.
