- Syllabus of lectures:
-
Basic principles for insurance of nuclear safety. Various levels of defence-in-depth for current and advanced nuclear units. Insurance of inherent, passive and active safety. Accidents with reactivity perturbations (reactivity excursion mechanism, standard and prompt power excursions, Černobyl). Accidents with heat removal impairment (loss of flow, loss of heat sink, TMI - 2 accident). Loss of coolant accidents-LOCA (depressurization phase, flooding phase, theoretical analyzes and the results of model experiments). Fuel behaviour during accidents, failure mechanism until melting point. Conditions and physical and technological processes in the containment, source term. Spreading of radioactivity within the unit and in the environment. Radiological consequences.
