- Supervisor:
- Department of Mechanics, Biomechanics and Mechatronics
- Synopsis:
-
The subject is concerned to description of factors, which influence the resistance of construction against fatigue of material or brittle fracture. In details, there are approaches of structure reliability evaluation described.
- Requirements:
-
Knowledge of basic subjects - elastic analysis and strength of structures, mechanical properties of material.
- Syllabus of lectures:
-
Cyclic parameters of material, fatigue stress and strain life curves, low cycle fatigue, high cycle fatigue, design against fatigue. fatigue damage. Fatigue life prediction methods. Nominal and local approaches. Crack initiation and propagation. Residual life prediction methods. Safety and reliability of the constructions.
- Syllabus of tutorials:
-
Mastering of the evaluation approaches of mechanical parts against the fatigue failure and brittle fracture.
Application of these approaches by FEM analysis of the strain- and stress tensor cyclic and stochastic changing.
