Synopsis:

Input data preparation, technological support included in CNC system. Real-time operating systems. Use of databases in various production stages. Information systems for different levels of production. Decision support and production flexibility. Production lines, flexible manufacturing systems.

Syllabus of lectures:

Structured programming. Calculations and parametric programming, canned cycles. CAD-CAM.

Machine tool, machining centre, workstation, unmanned operations. Real-time operating systems.

Production control, technical production management, information systems (IS), DNC.

Transactional information systems, tool life management, tool manipulation at the cell.

CNC at manufacturing cells, geometric subsystems, channel structure.

Flexible production, flexible manufacturing cells, unmanned workstations.

Collision and error states solution, computational procedures and PLC project.

PLC - combinational and/or sequential automation.

Transport and manipulation, automated production lines, flexible manufacturing systems.

Subsystem connections, executive information systems, DNC systems.

Recapitulation: automation and cooperation of workstations, flexibility, substitutability.

Production planning, monitoring and supervising. Quality control.

Computers in production process.

Excursion.

Syllabus of tutorials:

Student becomes familiar with CAD-CAM programming and demands on control systems for production lines and flexible automation.

Study Objective:

Basic classification and properties of numerical controled production machines, coordinate systems, NC codes. Means of programming, ISO code, structure of NC programme. Path programming, interpolation, contours. Correction - its programming and utilization in 2D and 3D.
