Carrying system of machine tools (MT), requirements, main carrying bodies, joints and their components. Fixed joints (linear and planar case). Movable joints (theoretical basics, rectilinear and circular guides, spindles and their mounting). Dynamic stiffness, systems with two degrees of freedom and n degrees of freedom (normal and forced oscillation, with and without damping, in more directions), self-excited oscillation, dynamic characteristics, placement of the machines on the basement. Thermal, dynamic and noise behaviors, working accuracy and efficiency of MT. System of automatic tool changing and automatic workpiece changing. System of lubrication, cooling, MT controlling and chip conveying. Numerical controlled MT. Classification of NC MT by different aspects. Characteristic attributes of the design. Flexible production cells, systems and lines. Single-purpose and reconfiguratable MT. Parallel structures of MT.
