Lectures on Holography for advanced students in optics. Lectures in the first part of semester, making holograms in the second part.

1) What is a hologram, principle of 3D recording. Perception of depth. Coherence.
2) Interference, diffraction. Spontaneous and stimulated emission. Lasers: principle, types.
3) Hologram: recording and reconstruction. Paraxial and non-paraxial imaging formulae. Magnification, aberrations.
4) Types of hologams: transmission, reflection, Denisjuk, Benton. Optical set-ups for recording of each type of hologram.
5) Diffraction efficiency of a hologram. Embossed holograms.
6) Requirements for light sources, set-ups, recording materials. Types of recording materials. Photographic process.
7) Holographic interferometry: double exposure method, live fringes, time-average method. Holographic optical elements.
8) Visit to a holographic company or to Academy of Science.
