Synopsis:

Advanced highly efficient methods of metal forming and possibilities of their technical and economic application. Selected methods of mould production and casting. Selected methods of welding. Advanced machining processes. Trends in the development of cutting tools. Economy of machining, machining costs. Optimisation of cutting conditions from the viewpoint of costs and productivity. Monitoring and adaptive controll of machining processes. Trends in the development of cutting fluids, environmentally friendly fluids. High speed cutting. Hard machining. Precise machining. Environment in machining. Nonconventional processes.

1. Advanced highly efficient methods of the sheet metal forming and possibilities of their technical and economical application.

2. Advanced highly efficient methods of the bulk forming and possibilities of their technical and economical application.

3. Investment and pressure die casting.

4. Treatment of aluminium and magnesium alloys.

5. Trends in welding and thermal cutting.

6. Laser welding and cuting.

7. Trends in the development of surface coating.

8. Trends in the develoment of cutting tools. High speed cutting.

9. Precise machining. Hard machining.

10. Economy of machining, production costs.

11. Optimisation of cutting conditions from the viewpoint of costs and productivity.

12. Monitoring and adaptive controll of machining processes.

13. Trends in the development of cutting fluids, environmentally friendly fluids. Other environmental aspects in machining. Nonconventional machining processes.

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. Determination of the strain hardening exponent n and normal anizotropy.

2. Modeling of fluid flow and solidification of castings.

3. Laser welding and cutting.

4. Advanced methods in surface coating.

5. Calculation of cutting power and number of revolutions in high speed cutting with advanced cutting tools.

6. Optimum cutting conditions calculation.

7. Machining costs calculation.
