The subject deals with evaluation of mobile networks and their future development. Students will obtain knowledge in network architecture and protocols used in these networks, they will learn about features and modifications that are introduced into the core and access networks. Furthermore, wireless local and metropolitan networks are described.

9. Protocol architecture of the UMTS radio interface

13. Metropolitan wireless networks, access to the medium (WiMAX).
14. Future of wired and wireless networks, convergence of networks.
